- Miss Blum attended the University of Dayton, where she graduated with two degrees - a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Science in Education with a minor in Communications - and now holds a teaching certificate with the Ohio Department of Education for Adolescent to Young Adult (7-12) Education.
- Miss Blum was raised Catholic, has attended Catholic schools her entire life and continues to practice and live out her Catholic faith.
- Miss Blum's favorite genre of literature is Horror/Mystery, and she particularly enjoys the writing styles of Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Sue Grafton.
- When she is not teaching or reading, Miss Blum fills her free time with swing dancing both socially and competitively around the Midwest. She also enjoys being on stage and recently performed the roles of "Penny" in a local production of the musical "Honk!" in the summer of 2014 and "Ethel Toffelmier" in The Music Man. Miss Blum loves music and plays the flute and saxophone as well as sings.
